In 2009 the GI Jive record hop celebrates 16 years providing recorded music for dancing. We play big band swing, rhythm & blues, jump jazz, western swing, boogie and rock and roll . Local radio shows, promotion of period dance events in Sheffield and Manchester and over the past 6 years organising the prestigeous Swing Cats Ball at Stockport Town Hall.

Over those 15 years the GI Jive record hop has appeared at over 1000 dances providing the best in recorded musical entertainment at:

Dance Tuition
Sheilagh and I have been teaching Jive, Lindy hop and more recently Balboa and Shag for 8 years at our Brooklands Studio and at The Imperial War Museum North for almost 4 years, Boogaloo Weekenders and at numerous workshops and weekenders throughout the UK from Edinburgh to Arundel

Dance Performance
Ian and Sheilagh as GI Jive have performed at Plaza Theatre Stockport, Palace Theatre Manchester, Her Majesty's Theatre London, Blackpool Tower Ballroom, Kentwell Hall Suffolk, Manchester Military Tattoo, Derry Jazz Festival, The Royal Northern College of Music, The Edinburgh Festival and at numerous other theatres and dance events throughout the UK dancing on stage with The Jive Aces, the Swing Commanders, The Memphis Belle Orchestra, The Glen Miller Tribute Orchestra, The Sid Lawrence Orchestra, The John Miller Orchestra and many other swing and jump jive bands.

Film Performance
Film credits include:- Choreography and Appearance in 'The ATA Girl', performance in 'Glenn Miller's Last Flight - Channel 4, Entertainment supplement - Channel M, Vacuuming - Completely Nude in Paradise - BBC TV, 'Sunday Life' - BBC1.
